Description
The current owner also has a long background in rallying, mainly with Lancia and Volvo Amazon. When he purchased the Gordini, it came with FIA documentation dating from 2007, together with paperwork relating to Appendix K and HTP (Historic Technical Passport) regulations. The intention was to complete the final preparation and inspection before entering the car in the Swedish Midnight Sun Rally (Midnattssolsrallyt).
Unfortunately, health issues prevented those plans from becoming reality. As the owner now finds it increasingly difficult to get in and out of the car, the decision has been made to pass it on to another enthusiast.
Importantly, the Gordini has not been used competitively since its renovation. Instead, it has remained garage-stored, being started and test-driven approximately once a year.
With its competition documentation updated, a fresh road inspection and any personal setup required by its next owner, this genuine R8 Gordini R1134 has the potential to return to historic racing or simply be enjoyed at classic-car events.
The car is accompanied by an extensive history file with original paperwork, documentation relating to its renovation and its FIA passport, adding considerably to the provenance of this rare early Gordini.

Condition
-
Mechanical condition
Easy to start, with the choke located in the engine bay, typical of a competition-prepared car. The tuned engine needs a few minutes to warm up properly and prefers higher revs when pulling away and changing gears. It is currently fitted with Weber carburettors, while the original Dell’Orto carburettors are included.
Also included are new spotlights, the older spotlights and a new set of MAD’IN split-rim alloy wheels. The car is fitted with a foam-filled competition fuel tank, while the original fuel tank is also included.
As the car has seen very little use during the past year, a routine service and general check-over are recommended. The brake pedal currently feels soft and the brake hydraulics/master cylinder should be inspected.
For road use, the car will require a full inspection, while anyone intending to return it to historic competition should also arrange for the FIA documentation/passport to be renewed or updated. -
Interior condition
Interior is fully set up for competition use, fitted with two Sparco bucket seats and five-point MLP harnesses, with the rear seat removed and a full roll cage installed. The floors and interior panels present in very good condition, with no notable damage or rust. The original dashboard remains in place, complemented by additional competition switches and gauges, a Speedpilot/Halda rally instrument and Mercury stopwatch. Lightweight plastic windows are fitted with sliding ventilation hatches, completing the period rally-car setup.
-
Exterior condition
Straight, solid bodywork with no notable dents, damage or rust. Only a small blister on the inner edge of the passenger door was noted. The underbody is solid and fitted with an engine skid plate. Bright, clean paintwork and good chrome throughout.
