Description

This Volvo car was originally delivered by Volvo Kristinastads to Mr. Österberg on December 18, 1982. The attached picture of the purchase agreement indicates a sum of 18,963 kr, labeled as "Volvo PV guarantee commission." This could possibly refer to Volvo insurance covering damages to a previous vehicle owned by the customer, although it's somewhat challenging to ascertain.

In any case, this car enjoyed a cherished existence under Mr. Österberg's ownership and comes with a comprehensive service book, bearing just two stamps, as well as numerous inspection reports confirming its original mileage of a mere 19,813 km to this day. The current owner is a dedicated Volvo collector with a penchant for only acquiring the best-preserved and lowest-mileage cars available. He acquired this particular Volvo in 1999 and has maintained possession over the past 24 years, primarily transferring it between himself and his company. He has consistently ensured the vehicle's proper storage and kept it in running condition.

Upon purchasing the car, the current owner noticed a subtle difference in color shade between the passenger front side and the bonnet. He inquired with the previous owner about whether the car had been involved in any accidents or if this discrepancy was factory or dealer-originated. The owner's response was that the car had never been in an accident, leaving the origin of the color variation open to speculation.

Remarkably, the car remains in a condition today that mirrors its newness, exhibiting no signs of body damage, rust, or flaws. Its paintwork is spotless, and its chrome trims gleam without blemish. Notably, there are no marks on the bumper or wheels, making it an exceedingly rare Volvo specimen—a prized possession for any collector or enthusiast fortunate enough to own it.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

This car runs and drives flawlessly, and when you lift the bonnet, it's like peering at a brand-new car (see pictures). It has received recent upgrades, including two new rear tires and a replacement fuel pump, although the original pump is included. Since it has been part of this collection, it will require a new inspection, as the last one was conducted in 1999.

  • Interior condition:

The interior is in impeccable condition, with every detail preserved flawlessly, and there are zero damages. It remains 100% original, complete with bolstered headrests and additional brake lights fitted onto the parcel shelf. Furthermore, we were able to remove the driver's seat cover, revealing a completely undamaged seat beneath it.

  • Exterior condition:

There are no issues to report; the entire car is in excellent condition. This extends to its remarkable underbody, where I couldn't find a single trace of rust—an exceptionally rare find for a Volvo 240.

  • General condition:

If you're in the market for a car like this, I'd advise not to miss out on this opportunity. You're likely purchasing one of the finest low-mileage cars in Sweden, if not the world.
