A beautiful Citroën that would be an ornament in any car museum or private collector's collection. There are very few examples of this model preserved today.

"A delightful French economy car from the joyful 1920s, spreading happiness. Besides the startup service and minor inspection, we find nothing that requires immediate attention. Photos taken now and from a year ago."

Description

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

Equipped with a straight-four engine of 0.8 liters and a three-speed gearbox. The registration certificate indicates 11 hp, while in England, it was stated as 7.5 horsepower. The car was last driven in the 1990s. Here, a startup service and minor inspection are recommended before attempting to start the car. It is equipped with mechanical brakes.

  • Interior condition:

Nice interior in synthetic leather without any issues.

  • Exterior condition:

Renovated and painted in the 1980s, according to the standards of that time. The condition has held up well, as the car has always been stored indoors in a museum and a private garage. New diagonal tires were mounted during the renovation and seem to have withstood storage without developing dry cracks. The headlamp inserts are of a more modern design. The convertible top and frame are in good condition. Nice grille masking.

  • General condition:

A fine and early car from an innovative manufacturer. This Citroën car is a classic, soon to celebrate its centenary.

Facts about the model

The Torpedo 3-seater Trefle model was manufactured between October 1924 and June 1926. It had the long chassis "Long wheelbase chassis C3." The nickname Torpedo Trefle derived from the seating arrangement. In the front, there were two individual seats, while the third seat was placed at the back in the middle. A passage between the front seats allowed access to the rear seat. Two storage compartments were placed to the right and left of the rear seat, accessible from the top and closed with a lid.

The car was available in the colors dark beige, Bordeaux red, Canon Blue, or Havana. The interior was made of synthetic leather. The spare wheel was mounted on the outside of the body at the rear. The wheels were of the disc type, which was the height of fashion in the 1920s. Citroën produced almost 81,000 units of the small "Type C" car in various variants between 1922 and 1926.
