"A beautiful Mercedes that has been restored by its current owner over the past few years. Runs like a dream, and everything technical is in good condition with only a few exceptions."

Description

The first owner of this car was an architect named Mr. Hugo Faust.
It was first registered in Sweden on 1976-10-19, when a gardener in Ystad became its new owner. Sometime in the 1970s or 1980s, it was hit by a snowplow, which led to the doors and fenders on the left side being replaced. At that time, the entire car was resprayed in red metallic paint.

In 1985, it was sold to a person in Skåne. The same family owned the car from 1985 to 2022 and used it very sparingly—only about 10,000 km were driven during all those years. It passed inspection in 1988 and was then taken off the road in 1989.

The current owner bought the car on 2022-11-07 and began a major restoration.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

The engine and transmission operate flawlessly. The radiator has been refurbished, but the engine itself is, as far as the current owner knows, unrestored. The brakes have been replaced all around, and the valves for the air suspension have also been renewed. The A/C is present but not functioning. All locks work, but the central locking is inoperative—likely due to a vacuum leak. All gauges and instruments function as they should, although the instrument lighting is somewhat dim. The sunroof can occasionally stick slightly when closing. Older-model tires with good tread. Original jack and spare wheel included.

  • Interior condition:

New upholstery sewn according to the original. The door panels are in good condition but have not been reupholstered (they are blue). Extra fabric is included if you wish to change the color to grey. Nice trim panels and headliner. A new set of carpets has been installed.

  • Exterior condition:

Very high-quality paintwork with deep, beautiful gloss and no visible imperfections. Trim, chrome, and light fixtures are in very good condition for regular use.

  • General condition:

A very beautiful car with an elegant overall impression. The engine delivers power whenever needed. A car that attracts admiring—and jealous—glances.
