Description
Unfortunately, we have no history for this motorcycle.
It was likely acquired in the local area, as that is the common denominator for all vehicles in the collection. The motorcycle underwent a restoration when it was acquired by the late Mr. Hedman. We do not know exactly what was done or when the work was carried out. We believe it was done sometime in the early 2010s.
We do not know when the motorcycle was deregistered, but in any case it was done before the state introduced the central vehicle register in 1973. Here the buyer will have to do some detective work of their own to possibly find more information about the motorcycle. We cannot guarantee that documents for registration can be obtained.
This is a distance auction. The photos were taken by an independent photographer, and information about the vehicle and its technical condition, to the extent such information was available, has been obtained from the estate administrator. BWA has therefore not inspected the vehicle on site at the seller's location.
Technical data
Condition
-
Mechanical condition
Equipped with a four-speed air-cooled single-cylinder two-stroke engine of just under 250 cc. We do not know when the motorcycle was last ridden; no attempts to start it were made at the time of photography.
-
Exterior condition
The motorcycle was repainted as part of the restoration work. We do not know exactly when this was carried out, but we estimate it was during the 2010s. The paintwork on the fuel tank stands out; we believe that during the restoration an attempt was made to recreate a special painting technique known as Isblomslack, in German eisblumenlack. This was a special painting technique popular in postwar Germany as a less expensive yet elegant alternative to chrome. The exhaust system has been painted silver. Please study the photos carefully for more information about the condition.
-
General condition
Rare vintage motorcycle prepared to running condition. Lacks identity documents for registration.
Facts about the model
Unlike some older machines, where the rider had to manually adjust the ignition via a lever on the handlebars, the KR 26 N was equipped with a centrifugal governor that handled the ignition advance automatically. Victoria ceased motorcycle production in 1958 after merging into the Zweirad Union group, which makes these Aero models some of the last purebred machines from one of Germany's very oldest motorcycle manufacturers.
