Description
Bought by the current owner for his collection in 2002 and driven sparingly for a few years. As the paint had faded and cracked in some areas, he decided to have it repainted in its original color. All moldings and details were removed, and the car's body was sanded down and given a fresh coat of paint. Since then, the car has mostly been stored in a heated garage and has not been on the roads since 2014.

The engine runs smoothly without any strange noises, but it needs a service as it is running lean. The brake pedal goes down a long way.

Very nice original interior with few signs of use.

Exterior condition
The car was professionally painted about 15 years ago and has hardly been driven since. It has been parked in a heated garage all this time and the paint is still in excellent condition. The chrome is in very good shape. The rims, tires, and other external equipment are without any flaws.

Facts about the model
Silver Shadow became somewhat of a turning point for Rolls-Royce. Tradition dictated that the finest brands were only sold as chassis, which were then dressed by external coachbuilders. But this was an expensive and complicated process, and now this prestigious profession was dying out. After sixty years of the tradition of offering bodywork on a frame, Rolls-Royce shocked the establishment in 1965 with a new modern car with a self-supporting body.
But time showed that they had made the right decision. In 15 years, they built more Silver Shadows than Rolls-Royce cars had been built since its inception in 1904. The new model worked so well that it was not until 1977 that it was upgraded to the Silver Shadow II. In 1980, a new generation of Rolls-Royce and Bentley models arrived, but the Shadow somehow hung on for a while longer - in the form of the Corniche convertible. It was built until 1996.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
