"Good history, well functioning and a solid impression. A GT to use both in early and late in the seasons."

Description

It came to Sweden from the USA as moving goods back in 1989. The owner hardly ever drove the car and neither did his son who inherited it in 2008. The current owner bought the MGB shortly afterwards and it had reportedly been stored in a barn for 20 years with a few standing starts. When the current owner bought the car, it only ran on three cylinders. A valve was stuck and a pushrod had bent. The top was rebuilt and all push rods were checked or replaced. He also saw to it that all the brake pipes were replaced and many other measures. In recent years, the well-known and knowledgeable MG man Ulf Edström in Gothenburg has handled other services and repairs and made sure that everything is as it should be on an MGB GT.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition

The current owner has had the engine head restored with carefully grounded valves. Vibrant and good feeling in the drivetrain with an overdrive that also works in third gear according to factory standards.

  • Interior condition

Original interior in finely worn and fresh condition. The original steering wheel and gear lever knob are also things that many appreciate.

  • Exterior condition

Repainted in whole or in part at some point in the country of export, i.e. the USA. During the years in the barn, something has fallen on the left side and there is two small paint damage on the front and rear wings. Otherwise, good paint with potential. Newer chrome spoke wheels purchased in Sweden, and also with good and period Uniroyal tyres.

  • General condition

Carefully cared for over the years by the last owner. This is well-functioning MGB GT in nice and user-friendly condition.

Facts about the model
