"A car that has been renovated both mechanically and aesthetically, costing around 150 000 SEK four years ago. Since then it has been used sparingly, around 5 000 summer km, and works without any issues."

Description

After many years in central Sweden, the car arrived in Skåne in 2015 with a man in Beddingestrand. He started an extensive renovation of both the engine, gearbox as well as the brakes. The body also received a new professional paint job and new rubber seals. When the car was finished in the summer of 2019, he drove it sparingly until the fall when the current owner bought it.

Since the renovation was completed, the car has been driven approximately 5000 km in the summer. As space in the garage is needed for new objects, he chooses to let an enthusiast take over and care for this gem.

Facts about the model

The first model in the Rover P6 series was the 2000, with a four-cylinder top-valve engine of 1978 cc and 90 horsepower. Production began in 1963 and continued until 1977. In between, the P6 was also equipped with dual carburetors, as in the 2000 TC with 110 hp, and a larger engine displacement as the Rover 2200 SC with 98 hp, and 2200 TC with 115 hp.

In 1968, the Rover 3500 was introduced with a 3.5-liter V8 engine producing 155 hp. Initially, it was only available with an automatic gearbox, as Rover's manual transmission could not handle the high torque. In Sweden, practically only cars with automatic transmission were sold, but in 1971, a manually shifted 3500 was also produced, the 3500 S.

As the 1971 model year, an updated front was introduced, including a modern black plastic grille that replaced the original aluminum grille.
