In 2004, the current owner bought the car to display in their museum. The car was classified as open top car but not completely finished. It has been carefully painted on the floor and other areas and wrapped around edges after the roof was removed. The seats and other interior parts have been replaced and renovated. The car has been reinforced in several places and is stable to drive. There are some minor blemishes and a few rust blisters, but no serious rust damage. When the car was completed, it was not driven but only started up regularly. Now the Saab has had a check-up on the clutch and brakes and is completely roadworthy after a new inspection/MOT.
As the space is needed for something else in the museum, the owner chooses to sell this car so that an enthusiast can enjoy it.

Saab 96 är en svensk tillverkad bil som tillverkades mellan 1960 och 1980 av Saab Automobile AB. Bilen var en vidareutveckling av föregångaren Saab 93 och kom att bli en av Saabs mest populära modeller.
Saab 96 var en 2-dörrars sedan och hade en framhjulsdrift. Den var utrustad med en tvåtaktsmotor på 841 cc (senare uppgraderad till 1498 cc) och hade en 4-växlad manuell växellåda. Bilen var också utrustad med en rad avancerade funktioner för sin tid, inklusive en självbärande kaross, skivbromsar och en stötfångare som absorberade kollisioner.
Under sin produktionsperiod genomgick Saab 96 flera mindre och större uppdateringar, inklusive en uppgradering till V4-motor på 1498 cc i början av 1967. Den nya motorn hade en högre effekt och var mer bränsleeffektiv än den gamla tvåtaktsmotorn.
Saab 96 var också en mycket framgångsrik rallybil och vann flera viktiga rallytävlingar runt om i världen under 1960- och 1970-talet.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
