This car was purchased as new by a miller in Sweden. He drove very little and generally parked it in his barn. As hens also stayed in the barn, traces of this can be observed on a portion of the roof in the form of minor fading.
The car was purchased in 1977 by a man who used it sparingly until 1980, when it was transferred to the prior owner's brother; the car had then driven approximately 40,000 kilometers. He sold it to his brother, who was a keen car enthusiast and took good care of it. The car was used sparingly in the summer for modest excursions.
A burglary occurred in the car on the driver's side, causing the chrome trim and window frame to be damaged. The window frame was repaired, however there are some blisters and the chrome trim is still damaged. In expection to the window frame, the car has its original 1957 paint.
The car has been in the villa garage since 1994, has started every year without issue, and has not been driven since the summer of 2014. When the owner died in 2016, his wife took care of the car but did not drive it until the summer of 2020, when it was inspected/MOTed. As a result, she want to sell it to a VW fan who will continue to care for it.

Mechanical condition
Due to a defective battery, it did not start at the time of the test, but the engine was running. 2 years ago, I had a mechanic check the brakes and other mechanics, and I haven't driven since. A new battery and a start-up service are required.

Interior condition
Original interiors in great shape, with only a few loose seams on the door cards and a small hole in the fabric behind the back seat backrest.
The doors and boot lid have dry rubber seals. -
Exterior condition
Original paint with a nice patina, surface rust in the front and rear wings, and very nice chrome, wheels, and tires.

General condition
A lovely and well-preserved bubble with an interesting patina and history. It comes well-equipped with a roller gas pedal, a fuel cap, and a gear lever lock (key available). There is also a camping table and camping dinnerware in a bag supplied.

- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
