Description

This rare motorcycle, built in Dalarna in 1924, was given to the current owner's husband as compensation for repairing a truck in the 1950s. It is said to have been test driven many years ago but has since been standing still. It was re-registered in 1946 when it was not used during the difficult years of World War II with, among other things, petrol rationing. The DS is in a very nice naturally patinated condition. The motorcycle has not been restored but only cared for and maintained. It doesn't seem to be modified to any great extent from what we can understand. The engine rolls over
.
Veterinarian David Senning was a well-known rider in reliability competitions, he tried several brands but was not satisfied with them and therefore wanted to build his own motorcycle. In 1922, Senning came into contact with engineer Gustaf Dahlin and the two built a test series of ten motorcycles with Swiss M.A.G. engines and Husqvarna frames. DS started mass production in 1924. There was a 500 cc and a 750 cc model with M.A.G. engines and a few with English JAP engines. In total, about 500 DS motorcycles were produced until 1927 in black or white.

Naturally patinated original appearance created only by the ravages of time. Slightly touch-up painted. Possibly the wings have been repainted at some point.

  • General condition:

A fantastic and exciting Swedish motorcycle in a fairly untouched condition.
