Description

NSU AG, a director on the board of directors, was the car first owner. When the current owner was living in Germany in 1977, he purchased the car. When he returned to Sweden in 1978, he imported it and drove it as a family car until 1980. Due to his work abroad, it was kept in storage until 1986. It was used as a collector's car starting in 1987. When the current owner purchased the NSU, it had already travelled 100,000 kilometres. It was given a major bodywork renovation in the late 1990s with new wings, doors, and front hoods after the onwer now has drove it for about 70,000 kilometres. The chassis was thoroughly inspected, and the car was fully repainted.
Coach builders in London installed a Tudor-Webasto sunroof in 2001. In 2014, there was a general review and refurbishment, as well as some repainting.
Tudor Webasto sunroof, towbar, tinted windows, power steering and brakes, H4 light with fog lights, Fuchs original aluminium wheel, stainless exhaust system, roller belts and headrests on all seats, disc brakes on all four wheels are among the features. During the renovation, the undercarriage is treated, and the rust is protected.

Facts about the model

Det som gjorde NSU Ro80 unik och spännande, (och före sin tid i design och teknik), var bland annat mycket elegant, modern kaross med stora innerutrymmen och runda former, mycket lågt luftmotstånd, hög komfort och mycket god väghållning. Dessutom unik Wankelmotor som är helt vibrationsfri och kan varvas utan begränsningar. Detta kopplat till en halvautomatisk växellåda och framhjulsdrift gjorde bilen till en sensation när den presenterades på Frankfurtmässan 1967. Den fick utmärkelsen årets bil detta år av en enhällig jury.
NSU hade lagt ner all sin kraft på att utveckla denna bilmodell och på grund av problem med motorns tätningar, mellan rotor och stator så fick man byta de första motorerna på alla bilar som såldes under första året. 1969 gick Audi in och köpte NSU, som då kom att heta Audi-NSU och denna bilmodell inspirerade bland annat till designen i den nya Audi 80 som kom i mitten av 1980-talet. Wankelmotorn, och Ro 80 modellen slutade man med 1978. Men Wankelmotorn har levt vidare i flera Mazda- sport-modeller och sålts i stort antal.
Idag är Ro 80 en eftertraktad samlarbil och detta exemplar är särskilt intressant eftersom den är av första utförandet med originaldesignen oförändrad. Bilen har också den förbättrade motorn,

  • During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
  • Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
  • When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
  • If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
  • If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
  • Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
  • For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
