Description
That owner began a full dismantling of the car down to bare metal and started a restoration project which, over 28 years, was never completed. Interestingly, the current owner saw the car being delivered back in 1985 and had tried to buy it for many years. Finally, in 2013, after decades of slow progress, he was able to purchase the car.
At that point, the bodywork had been restored with new panels fitted but not painted. The engine had previously been rebuilt but stored without oil, meaning it required a complete rebuild again. In reality, much of the earlier work had to be rechecked and redone before the project could be properly completed.
The body has since been blasted and fully repainted, including the underside and interior areas. The engine has been completely rebuilt (finished around two years ago) and has covered approximately 1,000 km since.
Everything that could not be restored has been replaced, including the entire brake system, suspension, and electrical system. Components that could be saved have been carefully restored.
There is extensive documentation, invoices, and older photos showing the restoration process.

Condition
-
Mechanical condition
Engine runs smoothly with a nice rumble, driven approx. 1,000 km since rebuild. Clean, well-presented engine bay fitted with an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburettor. A/C compressor not fitted; older unit included (condition unknown). New 5-spoke alloys with newer tyres, original steel wheels and hubcaps included. Inspection exempt and ready to drive.
-
Interior condition
Black interior with wood-trimmed dashboard. Seats reupholstered with new door cards, carpets, and headliner, all still presenting like new. Dashboard fitted with a new top pad, with original gauges retained, including the glovebox clock (currently not working). Original radio not fitted but included. Nice wood-style steering wheel and centre console with armrest. Interior is very tidy.
-
Exterior condition
Bodywork is as you’d expect from a renovated car—straight with no damage or rust issues, and the underbody matches. Many components have been renewed, including the exhaust. Personally, an underseal could be added for protection, though everything is clearly visible as it stands. Candy Apple Red paint presents well, with a few small stone chips on the lower front wings and slight orange peel on the rear panel between the tail lights. Chrome work all round is bright and undamaged. Some original badges are included but not fitted. Boot area is very clean, painted with a Rhino liner for added durability.
-
General condition
Virtually every component has been either replaced or restored during an approximately 8-year renovation. Since completion, the car has been used lightly over three summers and is now ready for a new owner to take over and enjoy.
