Description
The car is painted in ruby red metallic with a red canvas convertible top, and both the paint and the convertible top are original. The regular Golf 1 in coupe form ceased production in 1984, but Karmann, who built the Golf convertibles for Volkswagen, had several thousand bodies in stock. They received regular coupe bodies and then converted them into convertibles. They decided to continue building convertibles on the Golf 1 body until they ran out of the stock they had, which didn't happen until 1993. By that time, VW had already moved on to the Golf 3, which became the body that Karmann continued to build convertibles on. In the last few years of production, they made several special editions, including the Young Line, Sport Line, and Classic Line, of which this car is an example. These cars could be ordered with equipment that was not available in the regular convertibles. This particular car was ordered with power-operated convertible top, power windows, and beige leather upholstery. Today, these cars are highly sought after by collectors and are very rare. Additionally, this car has had its entire leather upholstery professionally restored to almost new condition. The canvas convertible top is also in very good and functional condition. The paint shows some signs of its age, with a few stone chips and minor dents, but overall, it is in good condition for being 30 years old. In 2022, the Golf received various maintenance and replacement items, including a new exhaust system, distributor cap, rotor, ignition cables, spark plugs, oil and filter, new battery, and a new right-side drive axle. A complete new left-side drive axle is also included with the car if one wishes to replace it.

Runs well in engine and driveline, and injection is functioning as it should. The car has been recently serviced. The temperature gauge is not working.

The interior is in very good condition. All leather in the interior was professionally restored to a very nice condition in 2022.

Exterior condition
The paint is in a used condition with slight wear and signs of usage. Better used fender flares and new stone chip tape are included, see pictures. The left headlight has slightly cloudy glass. 2 new headlights are included, see pictures. The tires are in good condition.

This Golf Classic Line Cabriolet is in very good original condition with functioning electric convertible top and power windows.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
