Description
This car comes from Norrland and Dalarna. For many years, it has been parked in the garage of VW collectors. Fahlke's VW Garage in Åmål has now prepared, washed, and started the car. The engine and transmission of the car are in good working order (it feels like it has not travelled long ). It also looks nice in the bodywork and paint. The low mileage explains the nice interior and original upholstery that isn't worn. Before it can be used, the car requires a general service, as well as a review of the brakes and a new inspection/MOT. Unusually clean body and chassis, with no obvious rust issues. A good car for preparing to drive to summer trips and car meets.

Mechanical condition
It starts easily and runs smoothly. The fuel system was cleaned and hose changed . Engine is quiet, with little noise or vibration. Good handbrake. The foot brake is hooked on the front wheel and releases when the car is stationary.

Interior condition
The original upholstery on the seats is in excellent shape, and it can be noted here that the car has only travelled 46,000 kilometers. Nice dashboard, headliner, door panels and new mats.

Older repaint from the 1980s that has done well. There are some minor blisters, as seen on the photos, but the overall impression is positive.

Good car that is ready to drive after the brakes and servicing have been checked. A delightful model and an unusually fresh car.

Facts about the model
Volkswagen Typ 3 kom 1961, först med sedanmodellen, Notchback, följd av kombin, Variant. Coupé-versionen TL anlände i augusti 1965 satidigt som 1600-motorn hade premiär. Tanken från Volkswagens sida var att coupén skulle ersätta Notchback men på flera marknader gillade man sedanen bättre och samtliga modeller levde tills produktionen lades ner 1973. Typ 3 fick en facelift 1970 med längre front, större stötfångare och de stora bakljusen. Bakgrunden till Typ 3 var att VW efter framgångarna med Typ 1, Bubblan, ville utveckla modellprogrammet med en något större bil. Grundkonstruktionen med luftkyld boxermotor monterad längst bak behölls, men Typ 3 fick lite större utrymmen och var också mer bekväm att åka i. Precis som Typ 1 konstruerades bilen med en bottenplatta som karossen sedan monterades på, och fjädringen sköttes med torsionsstavar. 1,5-litersmotorn som även fanns i Typ 1 konstruerades delvis om, så att den fick lägre höjd – bland annat genom att kylfläkten flyttades. Det gjorde att man fick plats med ett litet bagageutrymme ovanpå motorn, där Typ 1 bara hade ett stuvfack bakom baksätets ryggstöd. Till skillnad från Typ 1 var motorn och bakvagnen monterade i en hjälpram som i sin tur hade gummibussningar mot karossen, vilket minskade vibrationerna och förbättrade komforten. Två år efter premiären 1961 kom S-modellen med dubbla förgasare. Bilarna blev snart populära i rally och sedermera folkrace – vilket betyder att det idag finns mycket få fina exemplar kvar.

- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
