"Lovely original feeling in the car, personal extras, history and documentation."

It is owned by three generations of the same family.  Grandfather Karl from Främmestad in Västergötland purchased it from Auto-Service in Nossebro in the spring of 1957. There are also the earliest services mentioned in the well-preserved documents. In 1984, Father Sven took over and repaired some minor sheet metal damage in the spare wheel well and the side steps. The car was also repainted in its original colour. The current owner, Pierre, is the third generation and has had custody since 1993. He has repaired some worn part, but he hasn't done much driving. The engine is original, which is unusual for a 1950s bubble; typically, the engines were changed at 10,000 miles. Beetle has now rolled over 130,000 kilometers and has been lovingly cared for and adored by its owners over the years.

    22 / 30
  • Fuel Type

  • Mechanical condition:

Engine and gearbox have matching numbers with the original car and feel and sound like they should. The washer function from the tire pressure in the spare wheel has at some point been replaced with an electric one from an old Saab or Volvo

  • Interior condition:

The interior is clean and inviting, with original vinyl upholstery that is unique for the model year. Nice accessories: radio, passenger footrest, service part bag, grandfather's thermos, his first aid kit, a friendly car cushion, snow shovel, and spare fuel can in galvanised sheet metal. Some dampness and sun bleach marks on the ceiling, as expected, and a patched door card on the left door.

  • Exterior condition:

The outside was repainted in the original colour sometime in the 1980s, and the paint can probably be polished to shinier heights, but it is also really attractive as is. Extra features include a traditional roof rack and a single yellow fog light at the front. Original mudguards and a lovely two-row registration plate in the rear.

  • General condition:

A really nice representative of the model in a very appealing original design. And fun with a slightly happier color.

Facts about the model
