Description
It was delivered to its first owner in May 1930, Albert Lindberg in Gagnef, Dalarna. Throughout the 1930s and 1940s, the car remained in Dalarna under various owners, including in Äppelbo, Malung, and Opsaheden.
During the war years, it was listed in the preparedness register after the then-owner, Oskar Gustafsson, reported that “the vehicle will not be used in traffic for the time being.” Gustafsson sold the car during the war to Erik Eriksson in Äppelbo. In 1947, forestry student David Heinstedt took over, and in 1949 the car moved to Värmland, where in the following years it was registered in places such as Molkom, Sunne, Torby, Östmark, and Rådom.
The trail in Värmland ends in 1955, and the car likely remained there until sometime in the 1970s, when Sven-Erik Borring from Linköping acquired it and restored it to its current condition. At that time, the car carried the county letter “S” for Värmland, and in November 1978 the Model A was pre-registered, received its current registration number, and on May 23 it passed inspection.
Borring later sold the car to Per-Axel in Motala, who cared for it for nearly 19 years before Åke from Vikingstad took over. The current owner’s husband purchased the car in 2007, and together with a Model A Roadster in the garage, it has been driven every summer up until 2024.

The engine was not started during documentation, but the car was driven less than two years ago. The engine bay is dry, and a CTEK 6-volt charger is currently connected, indicating that the battery is at least taking a charge. However, a new battery may be needed.

Interior condition
Inviting plush interior with fine carpets and headliner. Door panels, flooring, dashboard, and instruments—all are well cared for and preserved. The small crocheted white cover on the rear seat is included.

Exterior condition
For the photos, we chose to leave the dust as it was, and the car was simply rolled out onto the driveway. Attractive two-tone paintwork with a well-kept pegamoid roof.

General condition
A genuinely solid overall impression and a charming version of the most common Model A variant, presented in a nicely restored condition. Likely exercised regularly during the summers over the past 45 years. A fine Model A suited for relaxed enthusiast use, and an important nearly 100-year-old representative of automotive history.

The Ford Model A exists in relatively large numbers in Sweden and was a long-awaited development and replacement for the early automotive bestseller, the Model T. When the Model A was introduced in November 1927 as a 1928 model, it was well overdue—competitors had already caught up with and surpassed Ford Motor Company with better, faster, and more comfortable cars. Now, Ford finally had a modern car to offer: a more powerful engine, standardized controls with conventional pedals for clutch, brake, and accelerator, a three-speed manual gearbox, and an attractive design.
The Model A was an immediate success. By February 4, 1929, Ford had already sold 1 million units. By the end of July that same year, sales had doubled to 2 million cars. Production of the Model A ended in March 1932.
According to the Swedish Model A Ford Association, around 1,200 examples are registered in Sweden. The most common variant is the Ford Tudor from 1930–31. “Tudor” is a play on the English term “two-door” and also references the British royal house. It was a closed sedan with two doors, offering seating for up to five passengers. The Tudor was the best-selling body style of all Model A variants—of the approximately 4.8 million Model As produced, nearly 1.4 million were Tudors, accounting for almost 29% of total production.
Newly manufactured parts are widely available, making these cars relatively easy to maintain and keep on the road.

Important to know before placing your bids!
