"Original car that runs perfectly and is in good condition. Rust spots on the body are filled with linseed oil to prevent further development. Has been owned by enthusiasts who have renovated it over the years."

Description

The car has been owned since 2004 by well-known enthusiasts within the Citroen club and much mechanical work has been done (see the owner's comment). It is one of the few that have survived as most are now rusted due to poor rust protection. The current owner bought the car in 2021 and has continued to take care of it but is now starting to run out of space in the garage, which is why he is choosing to sell it.

Owner's comment

In a conversation with the previous owner, he told that he bought the car from an estate in Norrköping. That winter, he removed the engine and gearbox, went through everything and changed all the gaskets and packings, as well as the starter motor, generator, pressure plate and vanes, exhaust system. He also scraped off all the underbody sealant (original) and painted it with new. The car has never been rustproofed underneath and has been treated with linseed oil on existing rust spots on the paint to stop the process. The camshafts and service were done in April 2022. An honest veteran car without many improvements. The car has an original petrol heater included, but it is not mounted in the car now. The car is inspected and roadworthy and works very well mechanically and hydraulically. 2 keys, original instruction book and inspection report are included.

Facts about the model

Citroën GS was produced between 1970 and 1979. The car was technologically advanced with zero-point suspension on the front wheels, centrally mounted disc brakes at the front and a slightly simplified hydraulic system from the DS/ID. The car was also produced in estate and sedan variants called Break and Berline respectively.
