Description

Here we have a somewhat unusual sight on Swedish roads, a right-hand drive Marcos 3000 GT. This particular car features a steel frame and was purchased by the current owner in July 2005, who has owned it for 19 years. The previous owner had it since 2003. The car was imported to Sweden on March 3, 1998, from England. The current owner has only driven the car for 144 miles over 17 years, mostly during trips to and from car gatherings!

The Marcos underwent renovation in the early 1990s in Ramdala. Additional bodywork needs were met by the current owner in 2016, where cracks in the gel coat were ground out and reinforced with fiberglass and polyester. The body was sanded, filled, and painted in a Lamborghini blue color. The car is equipped with a 3-liter Ford Essex V6 engine, a four-speed gearbox with overdrive, Spax adjustable shock absorbers with external springs, and a stainless steel exhaust system.

The owner has restored the car as closely as possible to its original specifications, replacing items such as the carburetor, gearbox, and extractor manifold. The replaced gearbox (now a five-speed) and extractor manifolds are included separately, as shown in the picture. The interior has also been refurbished, with new upholstery on the transmission tunnel and door panels. Only 196 units of this model were ever produced. Documentation, analog photos, four-point seat belts, and the small bumpers are included with the car.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

Easy to start and responsive, but runs a bit unevenly until it warms up. After warming up, the engine runs smoothly and sounds as it should. The drivetrain also functions well. The brakes feel good but were slightly squeaky during the photography session.

  • Interior condition:

The interior is in decent condition with normal wear and tear. The instrument panel is intact and in good shape. Adjusting the driver’s seat is not done by adjusting for leg length, but rather by moving the entire pedal box with a lever located just below the steering wheel to the right, as shown in the picture.

  • Exterior condition:

The paint is in good and satisfactory condition. The small bumpers are included separately, as shown in the picture. Considering it’s a fiberglass body, the panel fit is better than expected.

  • General condition:

A tough and lively English car in a roadworthy and good condition.
