Condition
-
Mechanical condition
Starts easily and the engine and other mechanics sound fine. There was no opportunity for a full test drive, but during a short drive around the yard, everything seemed to function well. As with all vehicles that have been sitting for a while, an inspection is recommended. It has not been checked on a lift, but what could be seen gave a robust and good impression.

Interior condition
The interior is in fine original condition with reupholstered seats. The door panels, dashboard, carpets, and headliner are also in good condition with some use patina. Instruments and controls are in fine shape. All electrical systems appear to be working, though the AC should be checked.
-
Exterior condition
Glossy and fine paintwork. Newer vinyl roof. Chrome, glass, lighting details, and other equipment are in good condition. Nice classic Buick wheels and good tires.

Facts about the model
In 1931, Buick launched its straight eight-cylinder engine. Buick had experienced sales declines following the 1929 financial crisis and the early years of the 1930s. For the 1936 model year, a new body and style were developed, which became a sales success. The design was by GM’s giant Harley Earl.
After World War II, car manufacturing gradually resumed, starting with revised pre-war models, but by the late 1940s, new bodies were introduced. The 1949 Buick Roadmaster came in a Hard Top version, without a B-pillar, which was one of the first models to feature that design. The designation for these was Riviera. The design this time was led by GM’s styling chief Bill Mitchell, who drew inspiration from both Italian design and British luxury cars. The first generation was produced from 1963 to 1965. The second generation, with a larger body and more of a fastback look, was produced from 1966 to 1970. The third generation, introduced in 1971, featured the characteristic “boat-tail” styling at the rear. Besides that, the body became even more sweeping. The rear design was said to be a “reuse” of the styling from the 1963 Corvette Sting Ray. The engine was Buick’s own 455ci, which, now with EPA emission requirements, produced 225 hp. With the Gran Sport package, it delivered 250 hp. The 1972??
