Volkswagen Typ1 Bubbla 1500 — 1969

Whole and nice Beetle with just a few owners. Older renovation that has held up very well. Great to drive with the large 1500 engine and disc brakes, which were original on this model.

Description

The car starts easily and feels good in both the engine and gearbox. It underwent a renovation with new fenders and footboards, which was done sometime in the 1990s. However, the car is still in very good condition. During the renovation, the car was repainted in red metallic, deviating from the original solid red. Additionally, slightly wider wheels and tires were installed. Apart from that, the car is in its original configuration and in original condition. It appears to have never had any major rust issues (we have checked carefully) and is very well-maintained in terms of paint and all the details. The mileage is at 67 000 kilometers, which seems plausible given how well it performs, being lively without any play or vibrations. However, it could also be 167 000 kilometers, although that feels unlikely considering the excellent upholstery and carpets. The car has been driven in Umeå and Ö-vik, and then again in Umeå. Looking at the ownership history, all the current owners are between 70-80 years old, which may explain why it is in such great condition. It's a rare opportunity for anyone looking for a road-ready and fresh microcar with a larger engine, which is quite rare these days.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

Well-maintained and good engine performance. The gears and clutch are also good, as well as the brakes. No remarks.

  • Interior condition:

Very nice on the inside. Not worn down or tattered. No remarks.

  • Exterior condition:

A candy with its ruby red paint. Professionally repainted more than 25 years ago and still just as beautiful. Also painted inside and around the edges. There are some bubbles under the right headlamp and surface rust in the spare wheel well.

  • General condition:

A good car to invest in if you want to buy an affordable and well-maintained Beetle. Additionally, the model is rare with a large 1500 engine. This was the top model in 1969 and also the first year with high seats with headrests.
