Owner's comment

Fully restored with meticulous attention to detail. Swedish-delivered car with complete Heritage certificate. Not once, but twice, the car has been disassembled and subjected to a thorough nut-and-bolt restoration. Originally sold in 1963 as a right-hand drive model in Sweden. During a 16-year restoration process, the car was converted to left-hand drive. It was later disassembled again and repainted in a beautiful green color. The extensive restoration is documented with hundreds of photos and receipts, and four boxes of spare parts are included. Since its restoration, the car has been carefully driven and remains in wonderful condition to this day. It exudes a delightful new car feel, with tight and precise mechanicals that perform flawlessly on the road. The fitted brown convertible top and elegant spoke wheels add to its appeal. This is a unique opportunity to become the owner of an exhibition-quality car that will continue to captivate for many years to come."

Facts about the model

The British sports car's sports car. The MGB was first showcased at the London Motor Show in 1963 as the successor to the MGA. While the MGA had its roots in the TD and TF models, the MGB was born out of BMC (British Motor Corporation). The engine was the same four-cylinder overhead valve engine as in the MGA - BMC's B-series engine, now enlarged to 1800 cc and producing 98 horsepower SAE. Most models were equipped with overdrive, although a few were actually sold without it.

The front suspension was similar to that of the MGA, while leaf springs and lever-arm shock absorbers were used at the rear. A significant innovation was the self-supporting body construction. The most sought-after models are the ones produced until 1969, featuring the original chrome grille, while the American rubber bumper versions were introduced in 1975.

In total, 512,243 MGBs were manufactured, of which 386,961 were Tourers (convertibles) and 125,282 were GT models (coupes). In Sweden, a total of 2,100 units were sold.
