Mercedes' finest and most expensive car of its time. Here is a well-groomed Swedish-sold car with only two users since new. The latest, (a Mercedes collectors), for 16 years, since 2006. The car is well serviced and has received extra anti-corrosion treatment underneath. New winter tires are on. Sold for estate. Starts easily and is very nice to drive. Enormous power in the engine and all conceivable luxury equipment. There is even a massage feature in the front seats, which works well.
There are some small scratches and stone chips in the paint and on the bumper, but no damage. A rust blister on some edge can also be found if you look closely (see picture). In need of a polishing and waxing on the outside and a leather and carpet wash on the inside, then it will be really fresh again.
Ok as it is now too, but can be a gem with a little love and care.

Mechanical condition
Starts immediately and runs nicely in the engine and shifts nicely. A little noise from the brakes but discs and shoes look good. Only winter tyres, unstudded, brand new, on the car with original wheels. May need service / overhaul as it has been driven very little in the last five years.

Interior condition
Complete and nice interior. Very nice in the engine compartment and underbody. Needs a proper cleaning of the inside to be in top condition.

Exterior condition
A little marks on some corner of the bumper. Some paint / rust blister, but nothing big or serious. Nice car!

General condition
Driven 10,000 km in the last four years. Stood still for the past year. May need new battery and service due to this downtime. Has always been parked indoors when not in use. The owner used this car mainly for longer holiday trips from 2006 to 2020. Good overall impression. And with simple work can be really nice, see pictures

Facts about the model
Mercedes-Benz W220 var fjärde generationens S-klass och ersatte W140 S-klass efter årsmodell 1998. W220 fanns tillgänglig med en rad motoralternativ. Såväl diesel, gas och bensinmotorer i V6-, V8 eller V12-utförande. Jämfört med sin föregångare hade W220 något mindre yttre dimensioner men erbjöd större inre volym, särskilt i versionerna med långt axelavstånd, och något mindre lastvolym. Produktionen av W220 började den 13 augusti 1998, och produktionen av C215 coupé följde 1999. Tillverkningen av 220-serien uppgick till 484 683 enheter, något mer än produktionssumman från W140. Produktionen avslutades i slutet av 2005, när W220 ersattes av W221 S-klass och C215 ersattes 2006 av C216 CL-klass. W220 var tillgänglig med fler motoralternativ än W126 eller W140. Sortimentet började med en mindre 2,8L 197 hk (147 kW) V6-motor. Mycket populär var 3,2L 224 hk (167 kW) V6, nästa steg en 3,7L V6 på 245 hk (183 kW). S500 drevs av en 5L V8 på 302 hk (225 kW). W220 var den första generationen av S-klass, där automatväxellåda var standard på alla modeller. Till en början hade alla bilar 5-växlad 5G-Tronic-växellåda, men efter 2003 (2004 i USA) erbjöds istället S 430 och S 500 med den nya 7-växlade 7G-Tronic-växellådan.

For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
