Description
This Audi Quattro was sold new, on 1985/06/11 by a VW Audi dealer in Stockholm which is now called Din Bil in Stockholm AB, to its happy owner. He was happy until the summer of 1993 when the current owner took charge of this icon of car history. During the previous owner's time, the car was stolen but was later found somewhat damaged. The insurance company realized that the car was worth saving so they paid, among other things. a new interior and a repaint in the car's original colour. An extra high wing and powerful extra lights like the famous rally cars certainly increased the performance and the car's manoeuvrability in the dark.
During the test run, it was noted that it went surprisingly smoothly. No rattling or squeaking from the body or wheels or suspension was detected. We did not check the function of the diff locks given the road conditions.
The car’s equipment includes lockable diff on the rear axle and intermediate diff, electric windows, electrically adjustable rear-view mirrors, central locking (doubtful function), power steering electrically heated rear window with Quattro text with electric loops. AC is available but has not been tested or used for many years. Talking computer, CD changer, police radio, leather upholstery and extra lights.
For the past ten years, the car has gone under 500 km in total but has been started regularly.

Mechanical condition
Very good condition. Drives quietly and steady at idle. Acceleration without delay except for a certain turbo delay. The instrument cluster seems to have retained its pixels. I have no personal experience of what its performance should be but have no reason to suspect any problems.

Very good condition. The interior was added after theft damage when the previous owner owned the car. before 1993.

Resprayed nicely after theft damage. You can see traces of repainting on the windows/rubber seals.

Facts about the model
En ikon i bilhistorien men även en mycket viktig del i Audis historia. Det är också grunden för dagens rallybilar. Audi var först med att tävla i VM-deltävlingar med en fyrhjulsdriven "standardbil". Femcylindrig motor, spärrbara diffar (mellan- och bakaxeldifferential), quattro skrivet med slingorna för den eluppvärmda bakrutan är bara några av de mest iögonfallande detaljer som Audi quattro var utrustad med. De första årsmodellerna var utrustade med en analog instrumentering men 1983 fick quattron digitala instrument. Nytt för året var 1985 bl.a en ny sluttande grill samt strålkastare anpassade för den. Mellan åren 1980 och 1991 tillverkades 11 452 exemplar. Åren 1981 till 1985 tog Audi quattro i olika former 23 WRC (VM)-segrar varav 8 som vår egen Stig Blomqvist tog hand om. En 10-ventilare, som detta är, klarade av 0-100 km/h på 7,1 sekunder och toppfarten låg på 220 km/h.
För detta fick man betala 236 000 kr 1985. En ny Saab Turbo Aero 16V kostade samma år 131 000 kr, en Volvo 245 Turbo gick lös på 106 000 kr och den kanske mest jämförbara bilen Porsche 911 Coupé med 231 hästkrafter kostade 231 000 kr.
En Audi quattro var bland det coolaste man kunde ha på 1980-talet.
