"A prestigious Mercedes in excellent condition."

Description

This Mercedes 190C is one of three cars specially ordered by the West German embassy in Stockholm in 1965. It was delivered with an automatic transmission, red leather upholstery, and a sunroof, similar to the more expensive 220 models of that era. According to reports, only three cars were built with this specification. The embassy sold the car in 1969 when the second owner bought it and used it as a daily driver until the early 1990s. He decided to restore the body, seriously repairing all the rust and repainting the car in its original color. He continued to use the car as an enthusiast vehicle until the current owner acquired it in 2007. The current owner has only used the car for leisurely drives to various events. The car has had only three owners and is exempt from inspection for life. Various spare parts can be included if there is interest.

Facts about the model

The classic Mercedes W110 “Fintail” body was manufactured between April 1961 and February 1968. The 190 was introduced in April 1961, featuring the same body as the six-cylinder 220 but with a simpler and 145-millimeter shorter front end. A bit later that same year, the 190 D with a two-liter diesel engine was also introduced.

Four years later, the 200 was presented, available with both petrol and diesel engines. At this time, the turn signals were moved down from the fenders to below the headlights. In 1965, the six-cylinder 230 was also introduced. The following year, the station wagon version was launched, known in Sweden as the Safari.
