Volkswagen Golf MK1 Project car Body no Engine — 1982

The renovation project was halted. Perfect golf body, freshly painted and rust-proofed, and ready to build. Many parts are included, as shown in the photographs. Is it suitable for an electric car project or a rally car?

"The body is in excellent shape. There is no damage or rust. It's worth noting that there's only one door on the driver's side and two on the passenger's side (very well done, no welds can be seen on the inside). The engine and transmission are missing. Handbrake and steerable all function and it rolls"

Description

This car was part of the collection of a major VW fan in Kalmar. Professionally rebuilt on the driver's side from two doors to one door. Professionally painted, in excellent condition with no damage or rust. The project came to an end a little more than 20 years ago. The plan was to construct a electric car. As a result, there is an extra fuel filling flap on the passenger side. Between the doors, the intention was to transport children to school using an electric golf, and in the current situation, the school was on a major road, where they did not want the children to be able to rush out into the street on the driver's side. Volvo had manufactured a 240 in this manner in the 1980s, which inspired the owner, who liked VW as well as to mech and weld. At the same time, he was looking forward to a one-of-a-kind vehicle. Years passed, and the car was left in the owner's garage. Unfortunately, the owner died last year, and the car had enough time to be deregistered in the car register. As a result, the body is now being sold as a spare part car. The old registeration number was GRF308, it is no longer valid. However, using information from the National Archives, a buyer can file for an original check and then register the car again after assembly.

Sold unregistered with a receipt, as a purchase document. Viewing at Autocenter Väst, in Bohus, Djupedal Siden 1, by appointment on 0735 07 0411.
