Borgward Isabella TS Coupé — 1959

Beautiful Isabella Coupé in un-renovated condition and it’s the more luxurious TS design. The car came from a collection and has been decommissioned for 21 years, will need a startup service and inspection.

"This car has been stored since 1997 and has some rust spots around the lower body and floor. Otherwise unusually good, original condition and easy to fixed and get running again. It’s a good starting point for renovation with an older repaint."

Borgward Isabella is regarded as one of the most beautiful German cars of the fifties. It’s Very unusual and sought after today, internationally speaking. Good and durable mechanics that is easy to renovate. There are plenty of spare parts. The engines had a 10,000-mile warranty from the factory (we estimate that this car has gone 170,000km). This car is Swedish sold and had the same owner until 1975. Then it changed hands from 1980 to 1996. The car has only had four users during its time. It has mostly driven around southern Sweden and been stored in a garage since 1996.
The car is in unusually good, complete but in a worn operating condition and has a rust hole in the front of the floor, on the driver's side (see pictures), but no visible holes in the body on the outside. Good overall impression and good car for a so-called rolling renovation.

  • Mechanical condition:

The engine needs a proper start-up service and inspection.

  • Interior condition:

There's a lot to do here. Door cards are loose and parts of the interior need a proper overhaul, cleaning and freshening. The floor mats seem to have done their part. But all the equipment is in place and the fine Blaupunkt original radio sits where it should be

  • Exterior condition:

Nice bodywork with ok paintwork. All chrome work is worn but complete. There are rust holes in the floor at the front (see pictures). The front wings have been replaced with plastic one.

  • General condition:

A reasonably well-kept copy of the highly sought-after coupé version adored by all the world's Borgward fans

Facts about the model

Då hade man tillverkat drygt 200 000 bilar.
