Description

This car was delivered new to the Lundgren Leather Factory in 1937 and used as a director's car until the Second World War. During the war it was stored at the factory and the tires were used by the Swedish war effort. After the war, it was resurrected in 1946 and used by the father and factory owner until the late 1950s, when it was retired and garaged.
Later, after the father died, the family inherited the car, which remained in storage until 2004, when it was reregistered as UKB286 and used for a short time before being stored. The car had a full service in 2014 and was placed back into service for a few years before being put back into storage until we picked it up this week. We now have the pleasure of getting it back up - and - running.

A fully documented PDF of the cars life is included in Swedish.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

Everything remained operational until 2014, We've now completed a start-up service and a general inspection, and the car runs and drives flawlessly thanks to its very smooth engine (see film).

  • Interior condition:

The interior is all original and has that wonderful old car smell. The seats are comfortable and in good condition, with the exception of a 30 cm rip in the front seat fabric on the driver's side (which in reality is a rip in a seat cover that was fitted in the 50's), good doors cards, and ok but worn carpets "see Pictures." A nice feature is the heating system, which includes a blower over the steering wheel, and a great-looking instrument cluster.

  • Exterior condition:

The bodywork's metal is best described as "tank-like" and exceedingly strong. The car has a beautiful patina and a few battle scars, notably dents on the rear wings from parking scrapes that are easily repaired (see photographs). The paintwork is visibly degraded in places, but that's to be expected from an 85-year-old car. Simply leave it alone and enjoy it..

  • General condition:

This car, a charming, sturdy, and solid example of vintage Volvo engineering at its best, needs to be utilized and driven since it has been sitting in its garage for many years.
