Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

The car has been on display at the museum for many years; we don't know when the engine was last started. Oil and coolant remain in the systems, and there are signs of coolant crystallization. All fluids in the engine must be thoroughly inspected and reviewed

  • Interior condition:

Complete interior that still remains in a nicely renovated condition.

  • Exterior condition:

By all accounts, this is a lovely older renovation with a few minor paint blemishes but otherwise great condition. Older English number plates are still on the car.

  • General condition:

This wonderful exhibition car deserves to be back on the road. There are no registration documents, but an English number plate and museum history may serve as a foundation for approved origin verification.

Facts about the model

In the beginning of the 20´s Cecil Kimber was the manager for the Morris retailer in Oxford. The firm was called Morris Garages. At that time it was usual that retailers sold their standard cars with tuned engines. From 1922 Kimber added special bodies to the Morris cars, which had tuned engines. In 1924 he came with a modified variant of the new 1,8 l morris Oxford, the “Morris Bullnose”. The car was called MG Super Sports. The combination of Morris´s reliability and Kimbers special bodies went to be an immediate success. From 1928 the firm was called MG Car Co. And became a real car producer. In 1928 the MG Midget, actually a Morris Minor with tuned engine and a special body, was produced as a model M. You could find a lot of variants; the TA (1936-1939) and the TC (1945-1949) are examples of the most known. MG built large cars with six-cylinder-engines too, such as the MG SA from 1938 The museum's car, the MG PB was from the Midget Series, an unusual variant with only 526 examples made. Besides the open variant with two seats there were the Tourer with four seats and the Airline Coupé.
