"Basically, it's an untouched original. The car hasn't been driven since the early 1970s, and the odometer just reads 48,000 kilometers. It was recently started and works well in the engine and transmission, but the brakes needs to be overhauled and restored."

Delivered in January 1958 in Stockholm, Sweden to a succesful engineering company. After 15 years of duty and another two owners, the car was stored and eventually picked up by a museum where it has been on display off and on. The car has been part of a bigger collection, and the owner passed away two years ago. Therefore it's sold as an estate.

A car at the top end of automotive technology and quality of the time. It starts, runs and sounds but has not been on the road for many years. A major service, a thorough technical overhaul and a restoration of the brakes is necessary before the car can be registered and perform a MOT.

  • Interior condition:

Small traces of gently usage and lovely aged wooden details. Stylish and special fabric upholstery with an exclusive textile feel to it. All in a beautifully untouched original condition.

  • Exterior condition:

Untouched bodywork as far as we can tell, but some parts may be repainted.
A careful polish should give an exciting result. Chrome and rubbers are in an overall good condition, but will also need a good polish.

  • General condition:

According to documents and history, it's been only used for 15 years, and then stored away by a collector. As such, it is in a beautiful exhibition condition with an interior in a fantastic condition. Viewing in Charlottenberg in Sweden by appointment on +46 705 669023.

Facts about the model

MB Typ 300 "Adenauer" (W186)
The highly luxurious typ 300 introduced in November 1951 came to be known as the Adenauer after having become a personal favorite of Germany Federal Republic's first Chancellor, Konrad Adenauer. Besides a beautiful aristocrat-friendly styling, the car was packed with some of the latest in car technology, such as an advanced chassis made out of oval steel tubes and a load-leveling suspension complete with independent front double wishbones and a coil spring axle as well as a rear rigid swing axle with double coil springs. The cars were immensely successful, having been produced for some 10 years before being replaced with the Fintail (Heckflosse) models.
