BMW 3.0 L (E3) — 1975

It's a rare BMW 3.0L, made even more unusual by the fact that it was sold in Sweden and has a long history and only three owners.

Description

In 1975, a car dealer purchased the car for his wife, who specified a manual transmission, sunroof, electric mirrors, and a dark blue plush interior. Because his wife demanded it, the car dealer installed auto leveling suspension as an aftermarket upgrade when the car arrived in Sweden. The car was driven on trade plates until 1978, when it was properly registered with only 2018 kilometers on the clock, according to the documentation included. When the owner died, the car was passed down to the grandson, who drove it sparingly until selling it to the current owner and collector in 2019. The vehicle comes with a service history and handbooks, as well as a mileage report booklet that verifies the mileage "See Pictures"

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

It starts easily and drives smoothly in both the engine and transmission; however, when reserving, it makes a noise that is most likely caused by a worn mount or bush; otherwise, it is in good working order.

  • Interior condition:

All original interior with blue plush fabric seats, nice and clean overall with minor signs of wear on the drivers seat and a crack in the chrome on the drivers side in side door handle.

  • Exterior condition:

The paint work is still in good condition with two small blisters on the c pillar and a dent on the rear fender. It was repainted in original color approx 25 years ago when it also received two minor welding fixes rear right fender under the bumper and left rear sill rear corner. The side trim on the driver's side sill is loose and will need to be reinstalled (see photos).

  • General condition:

I haven't seen one of these in years; it's a rare car that was extremely expensive in the 1970s, making it a fascinating car for collectors. It's in good shape and looks great; it just needs a few minor fixes to be really nice.
