Mechanical condition
The current owner's uncle carried out an engine overhaul in the nineties. It starts quickly and easily, features a fixed choke lever for when needed and also has a 6V CTEK charger installed. Robust main battery disconnect switch. The gearbox is easy to learn, the brakes respond directly and the chassis movements feel tight and good by the standards of the day. This example features the marque's then-modern centralized lubrication system, which was an optional extra.

Interior condition
Fresh and inviting interior. Fine door panels and headliner. The eighties-scented brake light in the rear window is surely a useful function, but whether it fits neatly in a fundamentally thirties-era design is a matter of opinion. The vintage radio's function was not checked.

Exterior condition
Body restored with panel work sometime in the eighties. Nice color combination, though at the time characteristic undercoat work was carried out without awareness of the later effect with the materials used. The small blisters are visible throughout the car, the result of that material which in itself trapped moisture. Good chrome and glass. Fine diagonal tires from Avon.

General condition
Pleasant, neat and reliable. The paint has some characteristics you'll have to live with – these show up on close inspection. Alternatively, you could commission a complete respray of the bodywork.

Facts about the model
The 170 S was a larger, more luxurious model with modern front suspension (coil springs) and 52 hp, while the 170 VA is based on the simpler 170 V series with older front suspension (transverse leaf spring) and 45 hp. Both could be equipped with mechanical centralized lubrication for the chassis joints, but pipe routing, pump and number of lubrication points differ depending on the different front suspensions and chassis designs. In total, 83,000 units of the 170 VA were built.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
