Description

This car has had enthusiastic owners who have taken good care of it. There is a fully filled service book along with other documents. In 1995, it was purchased by the owner of a Toyota dealership in Sölvesborg. He drove and serviced it until 2003 when it was sold to a man in Blekinge. He kept it for 5 years and then sold it to a man in Skåne. This owner kept the car for 15 years and drove it very sparingly during this time; the car was always stored during the winter months. Afterward, it was sold to the current owner.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

    The car runs very well, the turbocharger is working smoothly. Everything functions flawlessly, and it has excellent handling on the road. There is a tuning system installed that provides a nice sound, and the original parts are included. The car will be delivered after a fresh service, including a new timing belt.

  • Interior condition:

    Original interior in very good condition with extremely few signs of use.

  • Exterior condition:

    Very nice paint without any damages. Moldings and panels are in good condition, as well as the wheels and tires. There is a very small rust blister on the fender edge near the left rear wheel.

  • General condition:

    A stylish and nowadays uncommon car on Swedish roads. Enjoyable "convertible feel" with the targa top off and the wind in your hair.

Facts about the model

1986 marked the divergence of Celica and Supra, and the Supra received its own model code, MA70, and on certain markets, MA71. The initial model year was 1986.5 (late model year). The car featured a non-turbo 3-liter engine with 24 valves and dual overhead camshafts. It produced 200 horsepower without a catalytic converter and approximately 185 horsepower with a catalytic converter.

With the 1987 model year, the turbo version of the 3-liter engine was introduced, delivering 232 horsepower. The Supra A70 was introduced in Sweden in 1989 and was exclusively imported with the turbo-equipped 3-liter engine, now producing 235 horsepower. The A70 was produced until the spring of 1993.

Unlike the S60, the Supra A70 featured a targa top, present in most A70 models. Starting from 1991, an electric sunroof was offered as an option, but only in the USA and Japan. The USA and Japan markets also had the option of TEMS (Toyota Electrically Modulated Suspension). For the 1989 model year, there were front-end design changes, alterations to the taillights (except for the European version which retained the older taillights), modifications to the instrument panel, seats, rear spoiler, and more. The engines were also tuned for slightly higher output.

  • During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
  • Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
  • When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
  • If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
  • If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
  • Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
  • For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
