Description
This right-hand drive Bentley has an interesting history and has received extensive technical care over the years. The car was imported from Norway to Sweden by a previous owner and was registered to the next owner in 1990. During his ownership, rust was repaired in the rear fenders and sill boxes, the car was restored from white Rolls-Royce color to an elegant two-tone finish in silver/grey S1, and the bumpers were re-chromed.
When the current owner purchased the car in 2021, it had not been inspected by the mot station since 2004. The engine ran well, but the brake system required a comprehensive overhaul. New wheel cylinders and brake hoses were fitted, the master cylinder and rear wheel cylinders were renovated, and the car subsequently passed its mot inspection.
Since then, the engine has also received extensive service. The cylinder head was renovated by Uppsala Motorslip, the cooling system was cleaned and fitted with new hoses, the ignition system was renewed, and the SU carburettors were renovated with new membranes and needle valves. The gearbox has been checked and serviced with fresh oil, and the car now rolls on new BF Goodrich radial tyres.
Today it is a well-functioning and road-ready classic where several major and costly mechanical works have already been completed. There are still some cosmetic details to attend to, such as the paintwork, wooden trim, and a refreshment of the interior leather. The clock, temperature gauge, and heater fan do not function, but otherwise the car is in good working condition.

Mechanical condition
Easy to start and runs well in engine and drivetrain. Extra temperature gauge fitted as the original does not function, see image. Clock and heater fan do not work. Newer tires with good tread depth.

The interior is in good condition but requires refreshing of the leather and the wood trim also needs attention and work to look good again. Fine and clean headliner.

Exterior condition
Paint damage such as cracks and certain paint repairs, see photos, otherwise the paint is in a glossy condition. The chrome work is also in good and glossy condition.

General condition
This is an imposing and representative Bentley with considerable history, a great deal of original character and a comprehensive mechanical overhaul that leaves it ready to be used and enjoyed. There is potential for further improvement for those who wish to pursue it, but it can also be driven in its current condition. The Bentley has passed its inspection and is approved by the motor vehicle testing authority, and is therefore roadworthy.

Facts about the model
This model is identical to its sister car from Rolls-Royce, with only the radiator grille distinguishing them by year. The car was built from 1955 to 1965 with updates over the years. The first version, the S1, was produced in only 2,900 examples, and it is estimated that just under a quarter remain today. In its time, it was the finest and most exclusive car in England, together with its sister model from Rolls-Royce. Many regard this car as the most beautiful and elegant of cars from that era.
