Description
After a few years of use, the motorcycle was stolen and hidden away in a barn in Stensund. Around 1980, Leif received a tip about its location and reclaimed the bike. It was returned to his garage in Arjeplog, where he began planning a restoration. Sadly, the restoration never happened, as Leif drowned in 1987.
Later that year, the previous owner was given the opportunity to buy the bike back, which he did in the autumn of 1991, transporting it to Jakobsberg. After some test runs and reflection, he decided to sell the Indian on, lacking the time and money for a full restoration.
During the current owner’s tenure, the motorcycle has been reassembled after previously being taken apart. It has been converted to a 12-volt system with an alternator. The wheels have been re-laced, and the rear now has a 16-inch rim. Many parts have been chromed, including the front fork, brake plates, and engine covers. The handlebar is raised and re-chromed, and the engine is fitted with an Amal carburetor.
