"Well maintained high mileage car with few owners, and interesting as a marketing study of the enthusiast effect in the automotive industry's badge-engineering genre."

The car has only had 3 or 4 previous owners and was most used by the first owner. The majority of the almost 280 000 km driven appear to have been covered in the 1990s and in southern Sweden. In the database, it states "deviating mileage history" due to a complete instrument cluster replacement when it failed. The old cluster comes with the car. It's an interesting and fun development of the 205 as a youngtimer, that three dealer special versions for the small Swedish market have become collector's items on European markets and especially among French enthusiasts. The current owner has had the car for 10 years and is a dedicated 205 GTI enthusiast with several versions having passed through his ownership over the years, and still has a few remaining in his stock.

Technical data

  • Year
  • Registration date
  • Mileage
    279 000 km
  • Kw / hp
    88 / 120
  • Fuel Type
  • Transmission
  • Interior finish
  • Colour
    Dark Sorento Green

  • Mechanical condition:

The car feels like it has some mileage on it, but at the same time, the engine feels responsive and the transmission is in good condition. The clutch is new and engages a bit high, but that can be adjusted according to personal preference.

  • Interior condition:

The interior is clean, fresh and representative of the mileage, and the driver's seat is worn but repaired. The fuse box cover is stuck in open position and the luggage compartment also has an appearance that matches the mileage. The wooden steering wheel and gear knob were probably a nod to Peugeot's Le Mans race car from the past, the Peugeot 905, which among all the carbon fiber and advanced electronics, had a wooden gear knob.

  • Exterior condition:

The original paint, with a repainted bonnet and some paintwork done on the left side, is in a surprisingly good condition given the mileage. The plastic on the bumpers and door trims shows some normal signs of wear for its age. Fresh rims and good tyres, new shocks and springs front and rear.

  • General condition:

A fun special edition of a fun car, and also a fun youngtimer with all that entails of being a newer collector's vehicle. All packaged in a used and well maintained condition.

Facts about the model

The background to these special editions was that Peugeot in Sweden wanted to run a limited campaign for the 205 GTI model. In 1991, a Special Edition of the 205 GTI was therefore launched in three colors, which were equipped with, among other things, wood details and special emblems:

- Le Mans in a Miami Blue color in 84 units, coveted by collectors today.

- Monte Carlo in a Sorento Green color in 96 units, and of these, there are significantly fewer left than the Le Mans version.

- Classic Sport in black color in 200 units with a numbering on the steering wheel.
