Porsche 356B Coupé (1600, 90 hk) — 1963

This late Porsche 356B with its Karman built body, has a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, which shows that it's matching numbers engine and gearbox. This car was delivered as new with the sought after Super 90 engine. The car was imported from the Arizona to Sweden in 2017, its in nice condition and goes drive well with its Porsche Super 90.

The car is from a dry state and never suffered with rust, the car had older renovation work with new paint, interior design, upholstery and carpets all remaining to original standard. Porsche engineers created a 90 hp engine (type 616/7 T6 1600 engine with 741A 4 shifted box) that offered almost the same driving pleasure as the significantly more advanced Carrera model. Fitted with Blaupunkt radio and rare Les Leston steering wheel.

The updated B model of the Porsche 356 came in 1960 with 15-inch wheels, higher placed bumper and smaller sloping hood. At the same time, the headlamps had moved up to allow for air intake below. In addition, there were now ventilation windows in the doors and the chairs were mounted closer to the floor. For those who were not satisfied with the standard 1,500 cubic and 70 hp engine, there were two additional options: the highly advanced Carrera 4-axle and 115-hp engine, and the Super 90 engine that practically offered the same performance but where much easier in its construction. The Super 90 version of Porsche 356 was introduced to the dealers in June 1959 and is today highly recommended. Basically, the 70-horsepower engine had modified cylinder heads and the same Solex 40 PII-4 carburettor as Carrera. With increased compression and other exhaust systems, the engine delivered a total of 90 hp at 5,500 revs. In addition to the hotter, the Super 90 model included, for example, a larger 5.90 15 tire instead of 5.60, a more sporty shock absorber from Koni and 23 mm anti-slip brakes.
In July 1963, the last generation of the Porsche 356.C model came with disc brakes and new rims, but the same appearance as this car. O.
