Description

The very unusual Volvo 1800ES with its iconic all-glass tailgate was only built and sold during two years (1972-73), which explains why only 8077 cars were ever built. This specific car has chassis number 6855, and was built during the spring of 1973. This well kept car was built for the US market, and spent its first 37 years in sunny California, validated by some parking permits on one of the windows.
In 2010 it was brought home to Stockholm Sweden, where it lived for 2 years until the owner bought it in April of 2012.

A previous owner had decided to repaint the car in a non-Volvo colour. When I took ownership of it, the car had a lot of rust, specifically below the side doors and around the windows, the US side markers and the antenna. The car went through a total exterior makeover, where all the rust was taken care of, side markers and antenna removed, and the car was then finally repainted in its original colour - Gold Metallic.

A summary of the improvements I have done to the car are:
- Total renovation and removal of rusty panels
- Exterior repaint in the original colour
- New ignition lock and door locks, Volvo original. Two sets of keys.
- New starter battery
