"This is an exquisite "nut & bolt" restored classic of the legendary early K1 version of the Honda CB 750. It has not been ridden properly in a few years, so a service before it's time to put on your helmet and leathers is recommended."

Description

This machine was registered for road use on March 12, 1973. The current owner took it over in May 2022 but has not ridden the bike, nor did the previous owner ride it. They have enjoyed the beauty of the machine and have primarily regarded it as a work of technical design and craftsmanship. The owner before that owned and restored it between November 2016 and August 2021. It has been ridden 200 km since the restoration was completed. Extensive documentation and receipts from the restoration are included in a binder. It is inspected "for all time" in accordance with current regulations for vehicles older than 50 years.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition

It has not been started for some time and the battery has drained. A service with inspection and replacement of the fuel and oil is recommended. After the restoration, the odometer was reset and now reads 203 km. Reportedly, the engine has been rebuilt to all specifications and is in very fine condition with a "new-bike feel," as is all other mechanical equipment.

  • Interior condition

The seat has been reupholstered in vinyl with a slightly lower profile than the original. A fine original saddle is included. All gauges, indicator lights, and handles are in fine condition. The mirrors are not mounted but are included (this makes storage with a cover easier).

  • Exterior condition

Classic Candy Ruby Red paintwork on the tank and covers in fine, freshly restored condition. The same applies to all other painted parts and details in black. Very fine chrome and lighting details. Fine wheels and tires in like-new condition.

  • General condition

A time machine from the era when Japanese motorcycles took over the market. A fine restoration with a wonderful aura of originality, both as a whole and in the details. Striking color scheme and very fine chrome. A true classic with collector status.

Facts about the model

Honda and its CB750 Four revolutionized the motorcycle world in 1969, catching perhaps above all the British manufacturers off guard, as the CB750 established itself as the world's first modern superbike. Advanced technology, reliability, and performance changed the entire industry. Honda's design featured several technical innovations as standard equipment, which transformed the motorcycle market in one stroke. The early K1 version had a transverse, four-cylinder inline engine of 736 cc with an overhead camshaft, producing 67 hp and a top speed of over 200 km/h. It was also the world's first mass-produced motorcycle with a hydraulic front disc brake. Four carburetors and four chrome mufflers became a signature feature, hence the name Four. It represented a major technological leap, offering performance, comfort, and dependability in a class previously reserved for considerably more expensive and less accessible machines. The model became an enormous global sales success, not least in the USA and Europe, and it is also regarded as one of the most important motorcycles in history.
