Mechanical condition
The engine and gearbox work satisfactorily, as do the brakes. The brakes have been partially restored over the years. Everything else is in working order technically, except that the fuel gauge and ammeter function unreliably. Working locks with two sets of keys.
The engine bay is dirty and there is a fair amount of surface rust on the engine block. This also applies to certain parts of the undercarriage. Restored front suspension, brakes, and wiper motor. This was done recently. -
Interior condition
Excellent condition on all seat surfaces and backrests. Attractively patinated dashboard. Floor mats in good usable condition. The right front mat, however, is somewhat worn and soiled. The door sill trim is slightly worn with some cracks. Nice headliner, trim, and door panels.

Exterior condition
The paint has a fine gloss. A paint job that has held up very well. There are a few stone chips and a minor dent on the hood. There is a nasty crack in the left windshield as well as in the right vent window. Newly re-chromed bumpers in very good condition. The other chrome details are also in good condition. Old, poor tires as previously mentioned.

Facts about the model
Founded in 1928 by Walter Chrysler, named after the Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto.
The brand was positioned in the mid-range segment between Dodge and the more expensive Chrysler marque.
The brand was created to compete with General Motors marques such as Oldsmobile and Pontiac.
The golden years: During the 1930s and 1950s, the brand was known for elegant design, and in 1956 it even outsold the parent company's Chrysler models.
A well-known model from the 1950s was the performance car DeSoto Adventurer.
The end: Due to declining sales and general cutbacks within Chrysler, the brand was discontinued in 1961.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
