"A Morgan in near-new condition with very low mileage. It drives exceptionally well, with strong torque and a wonderful V8 soundtrack. Inspected and approved until 31 August 2028 and ready to enjoy."

Description

In the autumn of 1996, the current owner’s father travelled to England and bought this Morgan from a lady who had been its first owner. He then drove the car home from England to Valdemarsvik, where it was registered in Sweden.

The car was used sparingly during the summer months until his passing in 2014, when his son inherited it. Since then, the necessary servicing has been carried out and the rear brake cylinders have been replaced.

Otherwise, the car has seen very little use in recent years and has now covered just 13,140 kilometres from new.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition

The car runs well and everything functions as it should. It has recently been serviced, including new spark plugs and an oil change.

The original speedometer has been replaced; it shows 415 miles and is included with the car, helping to document the very low mileage.

The original tyres still have good tread, but as they date from 1993, they should be replaced.

  • Interior condition

The interior is in excellent condition with very few signs of use. The lady who owned the car in England left some light marks from her fingernails around the door handle. She also wore rings, which occasionally made contact with the dashboard when turning the steering wheel.

  • Exterior condition

The original paintwork is in very fine condition, as is all of the chrome. The soft top is also in very good, complete condition, and a tonneau cover is included.

There is a small dent on the left-hand side of the bonnet that should be possible to straighten. It was caused by the retaining strap that runs across the bonnet. The strap has broken and is kept in the tool compartment.

The tyres date from 1993 and should be replaced due to their age. They are fitted to the car’s attractive original wheels.

  • General condition

A superb Morgan with the desirable V8 engine. A car that will appeal to anyone with a passion for classic British sports cars.

Facts about the model

The Morgan +8 is one of the most classic British sports cars, combining traditional coachbuilding with a powerful V8 engine. The model was introduced as early as 1968 and continued to evolve over several decades.

The 1994 Morgan +8 belongs to the later generation and is particularly interesting because it was still built according to Morgan’s traditional principles, with an ash wood body frame and a hand-built aluminium body.

Approximate technical specifications for 1994:

Engine: 3.9-litre Rover V8
Power: approximately 190 hp
Transmission: 5-speed manual
Drive: Rear-wheel drive
Weight: around 900–1,000 kg
0–100 km/h: approximately 6 seconds
Top speed: around 200 km/h

What makes the +8 particularly special is the combination of low weight, V8 power and a very direct driving experience. It feels considerably more raw and analogue than many contemporary sports cars.

For collectors, a well-documented and original 1994 Morgan +8 is highly attractive. Examples with low mileage, the right specification and a well-preserved timber frame can command significant collector value.
