Description

This car was imported from Germany in 1988 and has had a total of five owners, including the current one. The third owner purchased the car in 1996 and undertook a complete renovation of the bodywork, engine, and gearbox, all done by specialists. It was repainted in its original 50 G white, and the renovation was completed in 1998, after which the car was fully registered.

Since then, the car has been owned by Mercedes enthusiasts and has been meticulously maintained by the Mercedes specialist MB Classic since the current owner purchased it in 2004. The car, affectionately nicknamed "Johanna," has been consistently maintained to a high standard. Over the past 20+ years, extensive work has been carried out to continuously improve the car. In 2016, a replacement engine was fitted, which included a rear axle and gearbox renovation and balancing, and professional tuning of the new engine. In 2019, Bring Back Classics repaired and repainted the left door.

The list of work done on this car is extensive, with all documentation organized in a large folder. As a cherished member of the Mercedes Car Club, this car has been lovingly owned by the same individual for the past 22 years, now being sold due to illness. The recorded mileage was 50,020 km in 2004, and it currently shows 75,520 km. It’s estimated that the total mileage is closer to 175,520 km.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

The car performed exceptionally well during the test drive with no issues. However, I would recommend adjusting the brakes as it hasn't been driven much in the past year. Otherwise, it has been meticulously serviced and maintained over the last 22 years. The engine bay is exceptionally clean and well-kept, and the car features beautiful wheels with gleaming hubcaps and good tires all around.

  • Interior condition:

Upon opening the door, you're greeted by beautifully preserved, undamaged leather seats and door panels, accented with elegant chrome trim. The wood and leather-trimmed dashboard is stunning, with the gauges fully restored by a specialist in 2016 for 8,000 kr. The carpets are in good condition, though there is slight sun-bleaching, and the rear panel of the driver’s seat requires refitting. Overall, it’s a wonderful place to sit and enjoy the ride.

  • Exterior condition:

The car looks fantastic with a straight, undamaged body and no signs of rust or damage. The underbody is clean and well-maintained, though there is a small area of rust around the rear right sill panel, primarily at the panel seam (see picture). The paintwork is bright and clean, with only a few minor chips, touch-ups, and a barely noticeable micro paint blister on the rear left wing. The chrome work throughout is bright and undamaged.

  • General condition:

This car is exceptional in every way, having been lovingly cared for and meticulously maintained. It comes with an extensive history, and driving it commands significant road presence—everyone takes notice and admires as you pass by.
