"A well-kept racing car with an interesting history that can serve as a solid starting point."

Description

Marianne Sterner received this PV as a gift from her parents in 1971. She was already an experienced rally map reader and a professional journalist. Even back then, the PV was tweaked and utilised as both a daily driver and a race car. The car was sold to TV personality Christer Glenning in 1994, who rebuilt it and made it into a pure track racing car.

For a long time, the PV has had a racing book, as well as FIA paperwork and documents for competition use in several classes, primarily vintage racing. These are probably due for renewal because they are now only valid for 5 years. Following Glenning's death, the car was handed to Jan Andersson in Skåne, who raced it for a while.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

Twin SU B18D engine with a shared float housing. There is no true choke, but rather a primer for the carburettors. Fuel cell in the rear with an electric pump, pressure regulator, and venting.

Salisbury Powr-Lok differential on the rear axle. Four-speed transmission. Drum brakes with all-around servos

Although it is unknown what has been done to the engine and mechanical, the car starts and runs well, with strong grip and distinct gears. Extra carburettors, engine parts, replacement gears and parts for the transmission, and other items are included. According to the paperwork, the car should 2 different gear ratios.

  • Interior condition:

Spartan - here, utility takes precedence over comfort and finish. The original dashboard is still present, although little worn. There is no upholstery, headliner, or original stuff.  Instead, there's a cage, a driver's seat, and more gauges. Raw, unadorned, and utilitarian. The driver's seat, however, has a sun visor.

Seats, cages, and other safety equipment must be changed and inspected on a regular basis. As a result, such details must be altered in order for it to be approved as a race car. The car also need new validation and paperwork in order to be fully certified.

  • Exterior condition:

The body is complete with metal wings. Straps on the hood and boot lid allow for simple access. External main switch and towing eyes in racing style Despite nearly fifty years of competition, it does not appear to have been particularly damaged.  The body, wings, and floor are in fair condition, however the doors have corrosion.

Some spare parts, such as an extra grill, are included. In addition to a binder full of documents regarding the car over the years.

  • General condition:

A healthy car with interesting provenance. Good starting object to classify as a racing car again.

Facts about the model
