"It's a wonderful car with all the authentic military characteristics, like the lookout roof hatch. It starts the first time with a smoothly functioning engine, great brakes, and a gearbox. It is apparent that it has been carefully renovated. Inspection/MOT free for life."

Description

This, along with his Volvo Amazon renovation project, is currently being auctioned off on behalf of the owner's estate. When he picked up the car in Ystad, it was a "Barnfind" in disrepair. This didn't disturb the owners because he grew up building rally cars and had a wealth of knowledge about old Volvos, as well as a large network of Volvo enthusiasts. The car has been renovated from the ground up, both mechanically and physically, and is now in great condition and easy to drive.

The renovation was completed in early 2020, after which it was reregistered and inspected/MOTed for the rest of its life. In April 2022, Classic Motor magazine published a detailed story "see photographs" Such a car is nearly impossible to find for sale today.

Army style seats in green vinyl that are functional and complete, with a little mark on what looks to be the original back seat. New headliner with opening look out hatch and good rubber mats. Fully renovated bodywork and chassis, with what appears to be a bullet mark in the right front wing. Beckers "325" matt green paint was used to provide the closest match to the original army green obtainable.
