Description
The minor rust that was present has been repaired using new metal sections. The engine and braking system have both been fully rebuilt. This work was carried out by the current owner, who has a high level of technical and mechanical expertise.
The paintwork has a few minor imperfections. It was repainted by the owner himself, but for a garage-applied finish it presents very well overall.
Technical data
Condition
-
Mechanical condition
Recently restored mechanically, the engine starts very easily and runs quietly and smoothly. A number of chassis components have also been replaced, which is noticeable in the way the car feels tight and free from rattles.
The braking system has been completely renewed. New tyres are fitted to widened, white-painted steel wheels, giving the car a very attractive look.
All instruments and other technical functions operate satisfactorily. -
Interior condition
The interior has been completely retrimmed, including the front seats, rear bench and door panels. The work has been carried out to a very high standard by a well-established professional upholsterer.
The headlining is in fine condition, as are the carpets and fitted mats. The dashboard is also very well presented and features three additional gauges for monitoring engine speed, oil temperature and oil pressure.
The luggage compartment is neat and well organised, and the Eberspächer heater is in working order. The original spare wheel is also present. -
Exterior condition
The blue metallic paintwork is very glossy and presents well overall. There are a few minor dust inclusions in the surface and some small runs, but considering that it is not a professional respray, the result is still very respectable.
The car is fitted with good tyres from 2024. The chrome, glass and lighting units are all in good usable condition, and a new windscreen has been fitted. -
General condition
A fine car that is sure to attract attention. For anyone looking for a Beetle that stands out from the crowd, this is the right car.

Facts about the model
The model kept the Beetle’s rounded body shape and compact proportions, but incorporated a number of technical improvements compared with earlier versions. It remained relatively light, simple in construction and easy to maintain.
The 1302 was available with several air-cooled, four-cylinder engines, including a 1.3-litre unit that offered modest but adequate performance for its time. Reliability, low running costs and straightforward engineering were among the model’s strongest qualities.
Inside, the design was simple and functional, with comfortable seating and a clean, uncomplicated dashboard layout.
As part of one of the best-selling car families of all time, the Volkswagen Beetle became an enduring symbol of motoring culture and personal freedom during the 1960s and 1970s. The 1302 represents an interesting stage in the model’s development, combining the classic Beetle character with a more modern chassis and improved road manners.
