Description
The first owner kept the car for almost 15 years. It was then owned for a couple of years by a well-known figure in Citroën circles. The third owner was a woman who used it as her everyday car for 23 years, although she covered relatively few miles each year.
Over the past ten years, the car has travelled approximately 10,000 km, of which around 3,000 km were covered during the last five years. In total, it has covered 129,430 km at a gentle pace.
The car has also appeared in the Swedish classic car magazine Klassiker. In issue 2/2008, it represented the Citroën 2CV in the magazine’s buyer’s guide. See the photo gallery.
Two sets of keys are included. The car passed its roadworthiness inspection on June 23 this year and is ready to drive.

Mechanical condition
It starts easily and smoothly in its own distinctive way, feeling lively and responsive. During a short test drive on smaller roads, with good throttle response, the steering, clutch and gearbox all worked well, and the ride was comfortable. The brakes also performed as they should.
It is a noisy and somewhat delicate-feeling experience, yet at the same time comfortable, easy to drive and guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
The car has not been inspected on a lift, but it was possible to get a reasonably good look underneath. It appears to have had some work carried out previously, and the underside looks good overall. -
Interior condition
The interior appears to remain in largely original condition, with normal light signs of use and good comfort in the seats. The door cards and other interior trim are in similarly good condition.
The steering wheel, controls, dashboard and instruments are all in good working order. The indicator stalk assembly is loose, but the remaining electrical and mechanical functions appear to work well.
The luggage compartment is in good condition. The side windows and roof mechanism operated as intended. A more modern radio/audio unit has been fitted. -
Exterior condition
The car appears to retain its original paintwork, with patina and normal signs of use consistent with its age and mileage. Somehow, it suits the character of the car very well.
The older Michelin X tyres, lighting details and emblems are all in good condition. The roof is also in good condition and functions as intended. -
General condition
A 2CV is a car that appeals to all the senses. Parked next to a modern-day giant, it catches the eye, draws you in and stirs the emotions. It has a soul that no modern, characterless car can come close to matching.
The Charleston version, with its distinctive colour combination and round chrome headlights – naturally with yellow bulbs – is the connoisseur’s choice.
This particular car has lived a life and been used, but it still has plenty to offer its next owner. There are a few details that would benefit from attention, but in keeping with the model’s wonderfully simple nature, everything works well.
An icon, a classic and a true enthusiast’s car.

Facts about the model
The 2CV was finally unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in 1948, and production began in July 1949. The objective was reportedly to create a car that would consume no more than around five litres of fuel per 100 km and be capable of 70 km/h. Its intended customers were farmers and people who had previously been unable to afford a car.
There is also a story that the car was designed with enough headroom for its occupants to wear a hat, although in reality it was probably more often driven by ordinary people in berets.
The model evolved over the years, but many of its original ideas remained. The front and rear bench seats could easily be removed when needed, either to make room for carrying goods or simply for a picnic. The roll-back canvas or plastic roof and the generally simple but durable mechanical construction also became defining features of the model.
For the 1980 model year, a two-tone version offering a small touch of everyday luxury was introduced and named the Charleston. The first version combined burgundy and black, although other colour combinations followed. The following year, the 2CV even gained front disc brakes.
Production of the 2CV finally ended in 1990. By then, close to seven million examples had been built in a wide variety of body styles.

- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
