"A Polo in good usable condition that has remained free from serious rust damage. Inspected until 2026-07-31, though the brakes will need attention before being driven regularly."

Description

The car was bought new in 1977 by a lady in Skåne, who mainly used it for short trips to the shop 2 km from her home. She sold it in 2005 to a new owner, who in turn sold it in 2006 to a man in Vittsjö. He drove it until 2009, when the current owner purchased it. She lives in Stockholm but has always used it only in the summers at her holiday home in Köpingsvik on Öland. There it has been driven very sparingly and always stored in a garage, off the road during the winters. When it was taken out this spring, the brakes did not function properly—the pedal goes to the floor. For this reason, it had to be transported from her summer house by trailer.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

The car runs well once warmed up and feels stable. However, the brakes have stopped working and the pedal goes to the floor. Brake pads and fluid were replaced last year and everything worked fine then, but a component in the system has since failed. The car must therefore be collected from Köpingsvik by trailer. Otherwise, regular maintenance has been carried out over the years, including a new right front shock absorber, rear silencer, brake pads and fluid, as well as recent oil and filter changes.

  • Interior condition:

Nice original interior with few signs of use, with sun-faded upper parts of the seat backs. Textile carpets in good, unworn condition.

  • Exterior condition:

Good paintwork with only a few small rust bubbles at the lower edges of the doors. Some surface rust spots are also visible under the trim on the left side. There is also a rust spot on the front panel, left side. Chrome and trims are in good condition. Good tires on original wheels.

  • General condition:

A fine 1970s Polo, well worth preserving in this nice condition.
