Description

This car was sold new in June 1975. Throughout its life, it has spent most of its time in the Ulricehamn area. The current owner bought the car in 2020 and has since carried out an extensive restoration. It has been repainted in sections and carefully reassembled with partly new (original) parts. A fun detail is that the current owner bought back his mother-in-law’s old worn-out Beetle, which had BIG wheels that were restored and repainted for this car. The low mileage cannot be guaranteed.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

The engine was overhauled during the restoration. All technical functions are in working order except for the odometer, which has stopped working. New braking system and shock absorbers. Good older tires on BIG wheels. Comes with older spare wheel and jack, as well as double keys. All locks are functioning. The car has not been inspected on a lift, but the comprehensive restoration suggests that everything is in the same condition as the rest of the exterior.

  • Interior condition:

Nice panels, carpets, and trim. New headliner. Original seats in good condition, with a small repaired damage on the driver’s seat (see photo), about the size of a thumbnail. Equipped with seat belts and a more modern CD stereo.

  • Exterior condition:

The paintwork is in very good condition, with a minor scratch on one of the front fenders. New bumpers. Nice light fixtures and lenses.

  • General condition:

Overall a very good impression, and the car feels great to drive. It feels relatively modern compared to many older Beetles. The 1600 engine and improved suspension contribute significantly to increased performance and better comfort.
