Description

This Saab was delivered new by Saab ANA in Lycksele to its first owner, Mr. Johansson, who owned it until he passed away. Another family member inherited the car in 2009 and has owned it ever since. It has been stored in a warm garage for many years, as the owner has other classic cars. The car was serviced and inspected in 2019 and driven often during the summer months until 2021.

What is special about this car is that it is all original, and despite its small flaws, it is generally in solid condition with mainly surface rust spots from older stone chips. The car is in good running condition and would be easy to prepare for the next and final inspection. It also had a starring role in the TV series "Sommaren 88." See the included picture for details.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

A simple review and small service, and it's ready for its last inspection. A few years ago, the brake calipers were replaced. It runs and drives with no issues. The car features good wheels, nice hubs, older tires, and includes an original Saab roof rack and tow bar.

  • Interior condition:

Interior is complete and original, in good condition for this model and year. The seats are complete and undamaged, with just a few holes on the rear driver seat. The carpets and door panels are slightly worn and need cleaning. The dashboard and instrumentation are in good condition.

  • Exterior condition:

The car overall presents itself well, but upon closer inspection, you will find a few small dents on the doors, surface rust spots from stone chips on the front panel and bonnet, some blisters around the rear tailgate window, and some touch-ups. However, there are no structural rust issues, and the underbody is solid (see pictures). Everything is mainly cosmetic. Note that the windscreen is cracked.

  • General condition:

You hardly ever see these cars on the road or even at car shows; most have rusted away. However, this one is very well worth keeping and fixing the cosmetic issues over time. It still gets people stopping and saying it has been years since they last saw one.
