"The Saab is in excellent condition and runs well, leaving a very good impression both inside and out. The rare color suits this particular model beautifully."

Description

This car was specially manufactured for the Stockholm Auto Show in 2002 and is reportedly the only convertible in the Seagrass Green color. After the show, it was owned by individuals connected to Saab’s engine development until 2014, when the current owner purchased it. The car has not been driven in winter since 2004 and is in very well-preserved condition. For the past 10 years, it has been sparingly used at a summer home in Småland.

The car comes with the following equipment:

• Climate control, cruise control, power windows, power mirrors, power soft top, Sport Edition leather upholstery, factory-installed sound system with upgraded speakers, alarm, wind deflector, and more.

Facts about the model

Generation 1 of the new 9-3 model, produced between 1998 and 2003, was primarily a facelift of the earlier 900 model. More significant changes came with Generation 2 and the 2003 model year. The previous hatchback was discontinued, and a sedan, or in Saab terms, a “SportSedan,” was introduced. A new Cabriolet followed the year after. These models were completely new and built on GM’s Epsilon platform, which was shared with models like the Opel Vectra and Cadillac BLS. As usual, Saab models ranged from basic versions to sporty Aero versions.

Saab’s convertible models had a bit of a journey. Initially, they were manufactured by Valmet in Finland. The second-generation 9-3 Cabriolet, introduced for the 2004 model year, was produced by Magna-Steyr in Austria. Toward the end, production moved back to Trollhättan, but the very last model year, 2012, was assembled in Nyköping.
